Gerry Kaestner, CIC, AIC
With over 40 years in the insurance industry, Gerry Kaestner puts her extensive expertise to work every day for the legal communities in Missouri, Kansas and Southern Illinois. Her depth of knowledge is based on broad experience inside both company and agency operations.
Licensed in all three states and all lines of insurance, Gerry is a graduate of University of Missouri St. Louis. She also earned an Associate in Claims (AIC) from the Insurance Institute of America and is a Certified Insurance Counselor through the National Alliance of Insurance (CIC). Gerry previously held the position of VP of Agency Operations for a local insurance carrier where she was responsible for the marketing of malpractice coverage for lawyers, business owners insurance, workers’ compensation insurance and term life. During that time, she developed new business with agencies activating company expansion into additional states, and led educational programs, regarding policy comparisons, that served both agencies and company employees.
Gerry also devotes time to raising money for cancer research through Trucking for a Cure, a Relay For Life team, which was formed and named in honor of her father who owned a local trucking company for over 65 years. Born and raised in Illinois, Gerry is a wife, mother of three and grandmother of eight, who enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and various sports including golf.
Mark B. Berry, JD, ARM
With a law degree from St. Louis University School of Law and over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mark Berry has a comprehensive understanding of the challenges the legal community faces, as well as the insurance products lawyers and law firms need. With certifications from the Insurance Institute of America as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Management (AIM), and Associate in Claims (AIC), Mark brings an impressive knowledge of insurance products to every client he serves.
Mark is the author of two Missouri Bar articles on claim prevention and co-author of the chapter on professional liability insurance for the Missouri Bar CLE books on Insurance Law and Professional Liability. He has also shared his expertise as a speaker on Risk Management and Claim Prevention topics for The Missouri Bar, St. Louis County Lawyer’s Association, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and St. Louis University School of Law.
Mark and his wife reside in St. Louis, Missouri, with their three sons. Mark enjoys hiking in the local parks as well as reading, gardening, sports, travel, and spending time with friends and family.
Nolan Berry
Nolan has helped serve many roles at Kaestner & Berry over the years, but officially joined the team in January 2021 after receiving his Insurance Producer License. In the past he has worked with local companies to develop marketing strategies and processes for improving public relations. He graduated in 2017 with a degree in Communication Studies. His concentration at Kaestner & Berry will be on marketing and adding new clients as Kaestner & Berry continues to attract new business. Additionally, he will focus on maintaining relationships and helping to renew policies for current clients. He will assist Partners Gerry Kaestner and Mark Berry in providing clients with excellent service.
Nolan graduated from Desmet Jesuit High school and accepted a scholarship to play basketball at Butler University in Indianapolis. Eventually, he moved back to the St. Louis area where he graduated and was named a Division II All-American at Maryville University. Prior to joining Kaestner & Berry, Nolan followed his love for athletics and pursued a career playing professional basketball in Europe. His basketball career took him to many different places including stops in Belgium, Switzerland, and Bosnia. His time abroad taught him about the importance of time management, building relationships and continuing to develop as a leader. These traits that will continue to serve him in his role at Kaestner & Berry. In his spare time Nolan enjoys eating out at different restaurants with friends and family, watching and listening to new shows and podcasts, and exercising at the gym.
